About The Foundation
The Boca Grande Health Clinic Foundation, Inc. ("Foundation") is a 501 (c)(3) tax exempt organization, founded in 2003, to provide financial support to the Boca Grande Health Clinic, Inc. ("Clinic") in Boca Grande, Florida. As such, our mission is to raise and manage capital to subsidize the operating and capital needs to the Clinic. We enjoy a broad based level of donor support from across the community and receive further assistance through a number of special events throughout the year. The Foundation is governed by an independent Board of Trustees with day to day management provided through a small, but dedicated, staff.
Message from the Chairman of the Board
It was an honor and privilege to assume the role of Foundation Chairman this past April upon the retirement of Will Farish, who led the organization to record growth during his 7 years as Chairman. We are grateful for Will’s vision and dedication to the Foundation and are committed to continuing the great work he accomplished. Bob Baer, our Treasurer for the last 6 years has also decided to retire from his role and we welcome Skip Branin as the new Treasurer. Thank you, Bob, for your dedication to the Foundation.
I am excited to have partner with me on this commitment our Vice-Chair and head of our Investment Committee Bill Ghriskey, Treasurer Skip Branin, and returning Secretary and Executive Director Mary Anne Hastings. I would like to welcome back Diane Mayer for her 2nd as the head of our Annual Giving campaign and thank her for her hard work on the very successful 2017/218 campaign. Marcus Bennett has also agreed to return for another year as our Audit Committee chair and we appreciate his leadership and keen eye on this important committee. Mike Dacey has agreed to assume the leadership role on our Fundraising Committee and continue the great work he and Dick Nielsen have done to kick the campaign off last year. Susie Tinsley and Dan Bayly have graciously agreed to lead our Auction and Golf Tournament Committees.
The Foundation remains in great financial health. Our mission to provide financial support to the Boca Grande Health Clinic does not change over time although the costs of offering even more services and maintaining our facilities have increased somewhat. Providing access to healthcare excellence is a costly endeavor but, with the support of our entire community, we have been able to meet those needs while building our Endowment for the future.
While our job has been made easier by the efforts of our predecessors it is far from over. Our mission only works when we all contribute in some way. Your past financial support shows us how important our Clinic is to the community. Your continued support is vital to keeping our Clinic financially healthy. Thank you for your participation in our efforts. Boca Grande is truly a remarkable place.
